President: Eng. Eduardo Oliveira e Souza

Agricultural Engineer, with training in Administration for executives, former Deputy elected in the district of Santarém, was president of CAP, Confederation of Farmers of Portugal between 2017 and 2023. In his vast CV, always linked to the agricultural sector, the Board of Directors stands out. Agricultural Director at the National Zootechnical Station, teaching at the Escola Superior Agrária de Santarém, the Agricultural Directorate of SUCRAL and, in particular, the Executive Directorate and State Representative in the Sorraia Valley Irrigators Association. Since he was a student, he has been involved in agricultural and forestry management on his family’s properties in Ribatejo and Alentejo.

 

Member: Dr. Sónia Ferreira

Graduated in International Relations and with a master’s degree in Management, councilor at Benavente City Council, consultant at Firstrule, Telecom and Energy Solutions, Manager at Agrifresh, Agricultural Consultancy. She has a diverse professional experience, namely in the sectors of Renewable Energy, Communication and Training, she worked at the Secretary of State for Sports and Youth and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, during the XIX Constitutional Government and having been a deputy in the XIV legislature, elected by the district of Santarém.

 

Member: Eng. Rui Veríssimo Batista

Farmer, businessman and President of the Campilhas and Alto Sado Irrigators Association, member of FENAREG, member of the Board of Directors of the Terras Dentro Local Development Association, member of the Sedes Agriculture Observatory, among others. He was manager of Conqueiros Invest, is a regular columnist in the media and has dedicated particular attention to sustainability issues, especially water, environmental preservation and technological innovation in the agricultural sector.

 

President: Prof. Dr. António João Coelho de Sousa

PhD in Management, with specialization in Business Strategy – University of Évora (2000). Master of Science in Management and Economie Agroalimentaire – Institut Agronomique de Montpellier (1991). Post-graduation in Economie Agro-Alimentaire (1990) – Center International des Études Agronomiques Méditerranéennes de Montpellier. Degree in Business Management (1987), with specialization in agricultural companies – University of Évora.
He is a professor at the Department of Management at the University of Évora. President of the Iberian Circle of Business Economics (CIBECEM), an Iberian network of research teams from eight border universities (Portugal and Spain). Member of the General Council of the University of Évora (strategic guidance body of the institution, representing its Professors and Researchers).

He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Companhia das Lezírias, SA. (2010-2011). He was President of the Board of Directors of the Alter Real Foundation. He was Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Orivárzea, SA. He was Director of the Management Department at the University of Évora. He was Deputy Director of CEFAGE – Center for Studies and Advanced Training in Management and Economics (with Excellent mention by FCT). He was a member of the Board of the General Assembly of Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo do Guadiana Interior. He was President of the Supervisory Board of Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo de Alcáçovas e Viana do Alentejo. He was coordinator of the Strategic Development Center at the University of Évora. He was a consultant at APS-Administração do Porto de Sines, for the areas of Management Control and Performance Assessment. He was a consultant for the company Augusto Mateus & Associados, for the area of ​​Strategic Management (wine sector) in the Alentejo Regional Innovation Plan project.

He has several scientific and publicity publications, national and international, some of them distinguished by the scientific community (award for best article at the Luso-Brazilian Congress of Strategy – ELBE 2008, Lisbon, ISCTE; national award Rogério Fernandes Ferreira 2011, with an article, co-authored, in the area of ​​relationships between Management Accounting Systems and Intellectual Capital).

Supervisor of more than two dozen completed Master’s theses in Management. Supervisor of seven completed PhD theses in Management. Lecturer at various scientific events. He is a member of the Order of Certified Accountants.

Graduated in Civil Engineering (pre-Bologna 5 years), from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and postgraduate in Business Management Techniques for Engineers, from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE).

She was President of the Technical Committee, CT 144 – Tourist services within the scope of the Portuguese Quality System (2011 to 2018); was Director of Institutional Relations at Sonae Turismo (2007 to 2010); was Deputy Director General of the Directorate General of Tourism (2002 to 2007); was Director of the Internal Audit Office at the Institute for Tourism Financing and Support (2001 to 2002); was Director of Tourism Projects and Equipment Services at the General Directorate of Tourism (1998 to 2001); he was Head of the Tourist Projects and Facilities Division of the General Directorate of Tourism (1995 to 1998).
She was a representative of the Ministry of Economy on the Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), (2012 to 2017); Effective member of the Higher Statistics Council, 2005; Member of the Gaming Advisory Council, 2002; Member of the Tourist Utility Commission, 1998; Member of the National Hunting Council, 1998; Representative at RIMA – Interministerial Network for Administrative Modernization; Representative on the Monitoring Committee for the Albufeiras de Portugal Project.
She is a member of the Order of Engineers.
